Cleaning and Caring for your
Topless Sandals

I must say I have destroyed a few pair of these sandals. I'm
thankful that I sell them, because I love to wear them so much,
that I go through a few pair during the Spring and Summer.
Don't take them off outside because the dog will love to chew
them!
Do not stick the shoes face to face, or they will not come
apart!
Do not put them in a small plastic bag, or the bag will
permanently adhere to the sticky side of the shoes.
Do not use wax paper on them!
Do not allow small children to play with them.
I've done all theses things and have learned my lesson.
If you will be traveling on vacation, you can save the
protective covering from the sandals and use on them for
protection, or store in the side pocket of your suit case, side
by side. When at home, store in your closet side by side.
The shoes may be worn until the adhesive is not working well,
then to reactivate, use a mild soap and a firm scrub brush and
scrub for about 15 seconds using warm/hot water. I use Ivory or
Joy dish detergent.
Your foot must be clean
and dry and the sandal must be clean and dry. All that is
required is that you wash them after use to remove the oil that
will accumulate from your skin and the dust from the floor or
ground. On some people, they can be used several times before
washing; when the stickiness does not seem to hold them on well,
it is time to reactivate the glue. When I am in a hurry to wear
my topless sandals, I use a blow dryer after washing to dry
quickly.
Avoid using dishwasher detergents or Comet® soaps or soaps with
moisturizers because they could lose their adhesive qualities.
Also avoid metal or hard plastic scouring brushes and do not
scrub too vigorously. Scrubbing for around 15 seconds should be
sufficient.
If you have difficulty keeping them on due to sweaty feet, try
rubbing alcohol on your feet. After it has dried, then step on
the Topless Sandals.
There is a product replacement guarantee on the adhesive for one
year through the manufacturer.
If you are wearing them to the swimming pool, go ahead and wear
them inside the pool; when they come off, set them in the
sun to dry. Towel off and wait to put the shoes on until you're
not dripping wet. The Chlorine from the pool will
accelerate the adhesive effects! It may be necessary to wet them
before removal.
